On December 11, 2024,a truly unforgettable moment, we told the world from the land of the Kingdom: “Welcome to Saudi Arabia.”We lived the details of the official announcement of Saudi Arabia hosting the 2034 FIFA World Cup,the greatest event in the history of global sports.

It was an exceptional day by all measures, witnessing extensive media coverage across SSC channels. Colleagues from various regions of the Kingdom participated, broadcasting from the heart of the event in Zurich, where the FIFA Council meeting was held and the announcement proudly declaring the selection of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as host took place.

I was honored that day to present the historic announcement moment live on air, in the presence of legends of Saudi football who formed part of every fan’s memory: Majed Abdullah, Mohammed Abduljawad, Fuad Anwar, Sami Al-Jaber, Hamzah Idris, and Saeed Al-OwairanIt was a moment woven with feelings of pride and belonging, echoing our words of welcome:
“Welcome to Saudi Arabia.”

I extend my highest congratulations and blessings to my father, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and to my Lord, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the architect of all these successes, and to the noble Saudi people and all residents of the Kingdom.

This is a glorious moment, the culmination of years of work, ambition, and vision, and a pivotal milestone on the path of sporting events. It is not just about hosting the tournament, but about delivering a historic and exceptional edition of the FIFA World Cup worthy of Saudi Arabia’s status and regional and international significance.
