On Thursday, May 6, 2021, I had the honor of visiting the Tarahim Association for the Care of Prisoners' Families in Riyadh. This is one of the leading humanitarian associations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, undertaking a vital role in supporting a segment of our society that is dear to our hearts.
During this visit, I had the opportunity to closely observe the commendable efforts the association makes in serving prisoners' families, whether in social, economic, or psychological aspects. We witnessed the organized and systematic approach adopted by "Tarahim" in providing financial and in-kind support to families, along with initiatives aimed at rehabilitating prisoners and their relatives, enabling them to reintegrate into society as productive individuals.
I also reviewed several programs implemented by the association in cooperation with governmental and non-governmental entities, These include vocational training, educational support for prisoners' children, and providing job opportunities and healthcare. It became evident that the association goes beyond merely offering assistance; it strives to foster sustainable change in the lives of its beneficiaries.
This visit deepened my understanding of the importance of social solidarity and the role of civil society in strengthening community cooperation. It also reaffirmed to me that caring for prisoners' families is a humanitarian responsibility that contributes to building a more cohesive and compassionate society.
My utmost thanks and appreciation go to those managing the Tarahim Association in Riyadh, and to everyone who contributes to supporting its noble mission.
